The average American hospital uses 2.5 times the energy of commercial buildings, which is one reason Hospital Corporation of America is rolling out a lighting retrofit program for most of its 160 hospitals. Estimated annual savings in electricity are $7.8 million.
A regional retailer asked Clear Energy to test our two-lamp reflector system against their recently retrofitted four-lamp system. Both systems employ T8 fluorescents. As the illustration shows, our system delivered the same illumination with a 36% reduction in energy cost. Going forward, maintenance costs will also be lower as the number of lamps to be replaced is halved. The energy savings is even larger when our system is compared to other types of standard T8 retrofits or if you’re retrofitting T12 fluorescents to T8. And our T5 high bay system for warehouses, gymnasiums and other high ceiling applications delivers equally impressive savings.
